Melissa is from San Antonio, TX. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1997, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Melissa has 24 years of nursing experience, with 23 spent in the operating room. She received her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University in 2020. Melissa is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and is licensed in Kentucky. Melissa has joined Dr. Tara R. Horn in providing services at Perennial Women’s Wellness.
Melissa is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Nurse Practitioners, the Society of Collegiate Leadership & Achievement, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Melissa, her husband Brian, and her two children reside in Russell County. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, boating and relaxing on beautiful Lake Cumberland.
